JSON Beautifier

How do I beautify JSON in VSCode?

Beautifying JSON in VS Code is straightforward with built-in features. Open your JSON file and use the Format Document command: press Shift+Alt+F (Windows/Linux) or Shift+Option+F (Mac), or right-click and select "Format Document." VS Code automatically formats JSON with proper indentation. Set indentation preferences in Settings: choose between 2 or 4 spaces under "Editor: Tab Size." For automatic formatting on save, enable "Format On Save" in settings. VS Code also validates JSON syntax in real-time, highlighting errors. Install extensions like "Prettier" for additional formatting options and consistency across file types. For quick formatting of selected text, use "Format Selection" command. If you need formatting outside VS Code or want additional features, use our JSON Beautifier at jsonconsole.com/json-beautifier which works in any browser without requiring software installation. Both provide excellent JSON formatting with proper indentation and structure.
